Gimperling photograph collection consists of cyanotype photographs in a photo album which are a travelog of several countries: Japan, Egypt, Greece, Rome, France and England, as well as, photos of sculpture and works of art and architecture. The few military related photographs deal with an unidentified unit on the Mexican Border during the Punitive Expedition of 1916-1917. Only one unit photo is identified, that being Company A, 21st U.S. Infantry Regiment. Nothing is known about Thomas N. Gimperling.
